Why do we wash towels after we take a shower or bath.?

Because, any material that gets wet over and over again is a potential soil for bacteria!

Here it's even worse because the moisture comes from your body with all its secretions (clean or not)!!

Be sure to always wash your towels! Why do we wash towels after we take a shower or bath.?
Because no matter how clean you think you are there is always some sort of body soil on you, that comes off on the towel. Also, wet towel can be a breeding ground for mold and bacteria. One last reason? There could be soap residue on your towel, and you don't want that on you next time after you shower. Why do we wash towels after we take a shower or bath.?
It is not only water that is rubbed off by the towel.

There will be dead skin scales, some skin oil (sebum), some soap/shower gel/bubble bath and many skin microbes too.

Soon your towel will be a breeding ground for microbes including fungal spores from the air than settle on the damp towel.

Al three conditions are present for good microbial growth; moisture, warmth and food (the stuff rubbed off by the towel).

It is no wonder that towels and face cloths, etc. soon smell musty.

If you have ever wondered how much stuff is in your towel after you have used it, then try rinsing it out in a bucket of clean water - prepare to be surprised.

**ADDITIONAL**

Why has xxdemzxx copied and pasted my answer? Very strange.
I only wash them after about a week of using them. Usually when they start to smell musty. It keeps from mold growing in them.
To keep it cleaner than we are :D
I don't, I always wash mine before. I dry them too.

We don't. We use them to dry off with.
Yep... soap residue, bacteria, mildew, and dead skin, not to mention microscopic critters. If the point of a shower is to become clean, then you'll probably want a clean towel afterward.
bacteria likes moisture.
Why shouldn't we? We transfer our dirt from the body to the towel. Not washing it and using it again would not clean our body.
